Frequently asked questions about RGPSC

How do I join the club, and what does it cost?
Our regular matches are the first and third Saturdays of each month.  We have an organzied practice
on the fourth Sunday of each month.  We start setting up about 8 a.m., but it would be best for you (on
your first time), to get to the range about 9am, sign in at the range's Registration Office.

pay the city's six dollar fee, and ask them where we are.  They'll point the way and we can go from
there.  Your first match is free.  If you like it then you can join the club at the next match for a whopping
$15.00 per year.  Matches are $10.00 each, with $3 of that going to USPSA.  The range is cold.
Ammo needs for a match are typically 100-125 rounds.  For practice it's pretty much until we get tired.

What is the level of competition?  We have a few members who are classified by the United States
Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) as Master or Grand Master. We have a good quantity of A
shooters, some Bs, Cs, and Ds. Visiting shooters come from around the state for our matches.

Matches are scored as part of
USPSA Area 2.

When are the matches held? We hold USPSA matches at 9:00 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of
each month. Practice matches /New Shooter Orientations are held at the same time on the fourth
Sunday of each month.

Where is the range located? We hold practices and competitions at the Albuquerque City Shooting
Range Park  (CSRP) on Albuquerque's west mesa.   It is located about 12 miles west of the Interstate
25/ Interstate 40 interchange. Take I-40 West to exit 149, the Paseo del Vulcan exit.  Turn right (North)
at the exit 149 stop sign.  Go North four miles, then turn left (West) onto Shooting Range Rd. Do not
take any turnoffs from Shooting Range Rd, just follow it for three miles to the park.  The park gate
opens to the public at 8:30 a.m. , and the park closes at 5:00 p.m.

What does it cost to shoot a match? The cost to shoot a match for RGPSC members is $10.0, for
non-members it is $15.00. There is also a $6.00 daily or $100.00 yearly fee from the City Shooting
Range Park.  The yearly pass allows you unlimited visits to the park.  Sign in for each competition or
practice session at the Range Office and show your yearly pass or pay the daily fee, then drive West
to bays 1-6.

What kind of equipment do I need?  See the equipment page.
